Good piece. I think the album didn’t do so well at the time because I think most people just really weren’t checking for Bill. I think a lot of the sensationalism surrounding his gunshot injury was demystified on his 1st solo album with the song “Everclear.” When he came out with this 2nd solo album people were already enamored with Biggie and hip hop in 95′ had already changed over to something else.
I do remember that “Only God Knows” did get a lot of play. Thanks for taking me back.
