Today is Mother’s Day and my mother has come down from Cleveland for the weekend, and while it’s nice to see her..sometimes I’ll think that it’s time for her to go. Nothing too serious but just slight irritations. A few nit picky things that make me glad that I live alone like questioning the fact that I tossed out some old bread, or how junky it is. I told her that she should have seen it just a few days prior, she might have beaten me. She also has the tendency to worry just a bit too much about certain things, even when I try to reassure her of the situation, but as the homie Brittany says..a mom is going to be a mom.

However, on the flip side of that coin..my mother is the one that brings me back to the reality of things when I get lost in front of this computer screen. The truth of the matter is that I have plenty of things that I need to improve upon and it seems as if she just wants to make sure that I stay focused on them. I’m doing what I can, but at times I tend to get down on myself. I don’t tell her, but I think she can sense it. Perhaps that the intuition that I’ve always read about.

I’m very appreciative.

All in all, MamaWallace is a very strong woman. I love her and I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. She gives me a sobering perspective on life and I’m continuing to do my best to make her proud of me.

So I like taking pictures and all…I have these two personal photo projects that I’m working on over at Flickr where I have to take at least one picture per day. They call them 365 Days (or in my case 366). One project is self portraits and with the other one I can shoot whatever I want. Anyways, when I first started, would try to take songs that I like and try to match them up with a picture that told the story of the song. This O’jays tune was one of my favorites, but I don’t think too many people got the correlation betwixt the two. And of course it’s been sampled a few times.

On another note, I’m not sure how many more children Eddie has, but I’d be getting close to them. I couldn’t fathom having to mourn the loss of a child, let alone two.

In anycase, it’s been a while since my last blog entry here at the original Rant. A few things have happened since then. Bush is still the president. We are still at “war”. I’ve relocated myself to a new city. I’ve since started and finished a new MBA program. Yeah, I’m a little bright. At times anyways. I’ve grown…learned a lot abot myself, about the opposite sex, about people in general. Looking at my profile (as of 8/3/07), I have Chamillionaire listed as a favorite artist of mine, along with “ask if you don’t know”. I find that funny in 2007, everyone knows the man now.

Let’s see, what else has gone on? I’ve started sharing my poetry alot more..even reading at a few open mic sessions. I’ve also been continuing my love affair with photography. Makes me wonder how I would do if I actually had some sort of formal training.

I still love samples and I always will. I really need to invest in an external hard drive or something. It pains me when I have to delete a few things to make space on the drive. My damn burner is not working for whatever reason..I guess that’s what happens when you have a five year old computer.

I’ve stayed out of trouble for the most part. I don’t have any children that I know of, and I haven’t been arrested as of yet. Well, I was placed in the back seat of a highway patrol car, but I didn’t have any cuffs on.

Anyways, it’s good to be back on this side of town. I think that I’ll be reposting some of the things I’ve posted on other sites such as Yahoo360 and MySpace.
