A few nights ago, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and watch some of the St. Ides ads that I’d watched as an adolescent, and even check out a few that I may have missed. The bulk of these 30 to 60 second ads are better than a great deal of “music” coming out nowadays.

It’s been a minute since I’ve blogged for the masses, I’ve been around…just trying to live and whatnot. What have I been up to? Lets see, I’ve been spending a significant amount of time working on my photography and just grinding to keep the lights on.

There are about 39.5 million people in the world living with AIDS. The majority of them are in African countries. However, 1.2 million people live in the United States. Out of that 1.2 million…close to 300,000 (25 percent) are unaware of it. Jessica Brown was one of those 300,000.

I wanted to begin writing this about a month ago, but I couldn’t. For some reason I couldn’t put the words together the way I really wanted to with so much time between then and now. I needed to wait and see if this would really come to be. Well, the time is now and Barack Obama has been elected as the 44th President of the United States.

In less than a week, Americans who have not already voted early will be heading to the polls to choose the 44th President of the United States. It will be a historic election regardless of who wins, but all signs seem to be hinting that an Obama victory is in the making. While I’m hoping that comes to fruition…I still can’t help but to be nervous.

I usually go places by myself, but I tend to see people that I know. After a little bit of mingling and a few more drinks, I find me a spot that’s close to the action but not too close, and I soak it all in.

On Wednesday night, I went to this karaoke/open mic event at Sammy’s Bar and Grille. As I sat there, I started thinking about something that I’d like to embark upon in the near future. I want to document struggle in pictures and words.

It’s now Wednesday evening as I type this (I wrote it out on Monday), on Sunday the remnants of Hurricane Ike made it’s way through Ohio and left us in what Governor Strickland has called a state of emergency although it’s nothing compared to what happened in Texas.

I’ve seen you on television and read articles and stories about you in the newspapers and magazines all the time. I’m well aware of the fact that you want and need my vote to win this November, but I want to know what I’ll get out of it.

I haven’t really been up to that much lately. Nothing really that interesting going on with me. I’ve found myself contemplating my future and things like that. I found myself looking at one of my old textbooks, and I concluded that I would start working on a few things.
